Dave Jackson [00:00:00]:
If you're doing a podcast interview and you're looking on your left screen and you're not sure where to look to actually keep eye contact, last week, we talked about the Elgato prompter. This week, I've got something that'll help you achieve that goal for half the price. Welcome to podcasting resources, helping you find the tools to enable you to impact your audience faster, smarter, and deeper. Our website, podcastingresources.com. Hey. I'm Dave Jackson from the school of podcasting dot calm. And last week, we talked about the Elgato prompter. I have 1 sitting over here right in front of me, and I love it.

Dave Jackson [00:00:39]:
But people said, yeah, I don't have $280 for a prompter. Do you know of something else where I could somehow look into the camera while I'm looking at the person who's interviewing me. And I found a solutions called PlexiClam, And I found a solution. It's called FlexiCam. I'll have a link in the episode description. It is an affiliate length. So it's a win win for both of us, and it's actually pretty slick. It's this little clear plastic thing that you slip on your monitor, and it creates this little shelf that your camera can sit on.

Dave Jackson [00:01:17]:
Whether it's just a webcam, they do have Sturdier version. So if you have a DSLR camera, it'll even work for that, and it's pretty slick. Now if you don't have any lighting, they actually have additional lighting that you can kinda clip tool your monitors. Pretty slick. Now that takes care of the I don't know where to look problem. But if you actually want a teleprompter, here is another solution. And what's great about this, it's software. It's an app.

Dave Jackson [00:01:47]:
It's a website, and you can start for free. It's called PromptSmart. Very, very cool. What I like about this is any kind of teleprompter. You either have a speed setting so that you know how to scroll, or you have to kind of press a button to start and stop it, and it is just kinda distracting. PromptSmart is voice activated. So if you stop talking, it stops scrolling. It's really pretty slick.

Dave Jackson [00:02:14]:
So between these 2, you could end up with basically a teleprompter. So if you're doing YouTube videos, things like that, as well as that look directly into your eyes look from something like a teleprompter, and it's all under $100. FlexiCam starts at $50, and then depending what you add to it, the price goes up. And, again, I'll have links to that out in the episode show
